Obstetrics & gynaecology service

Dr. Siko provides private maternity care to women during pregnancy (antenatal), and after the birth (postnatal care). He provides both planned and emergency private deliveries at Mediclinic Potchefstroom, both normal births and caesarean sections. It is best to book an appointment as soon as you know you are pregnant, or usually at eight weeks.

Services

Private antenatal services for cash paying and medical aid clients

At the first appointment you can expect calculation of your expected date of delivery, full general examination and basic tests including urine and blood tests.

Obstetric and gynaecological sonars

You will have follow-up appointments throughout your pregnancy. Before you reach your 20-weeks of pregnancy, you will have a sonar. You can contact our Practice for more information regarding the gynaecological sonars.

Family planning

Family planning goes hand in hand with consultations to discuss the best options for each family’s circumstances. This includes counselling on contraceptives, LOOP insertion and sterilization for couples that have completed their family.

Infertility services

In 85 to 90 percent of cases, a qualified doctor can treat infertility with conventional medical therapies, including counselling on the best time for conception. Basic infertility treatments include hormonal medications, changes in lifestyles and surgery. You will be referred to appropriate centres and specialists if the need arises.

Gynaecology services

We provide health promotion and prevention by screening for cancers and the appropriate management of abnormal results.
